21 Apr 2016. There were three approved centre's reports published today: St. Catherine’s Ward - St. Finbarr’s Hospital, Cappahard Lodge and Linn Dara Child and Adolescent In-patient Unit, Cherry Orchard.
05 Apr 2016. The Judgment Support Framework (JSF) is a guidance document for Approved Centres regarding the matters which the Office of the Inspector of Mental Health Services shall address during the course of its annual inspections and may address during the course of any other focused inspections.

The Mental Health (Amendment) Act 2015 comes into force today. Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and medication (administered for over three months) can now only be administered to an involuntary patient without consent where it has been determined that the patient is unable to consent to the treatment.

The Commission was established in 2002. We are an independent body and our functions are set out in the Mental Health Act 2001.
