Code of Practice Relating to Admission of Children under the Mental Health Act 2001

The Mental Health Commission published a code of practice on the admission of children under the Mental Health Act 2001 in 2006, which came into operation on 1^st November 2006.

The Commission has since issued an addendum to the child code of practice, which has been effective since 1^st July 2009. The aim of the amendment is to reflect and clarify the Commission’s policy on the admission of children pursuant to the Mental Health Act.
