Information for Young People
The Headspace Toolkit
The Mental Health Commission has published the Headspace Toolkit, a self advocacy and rights based toolkit for young people availing of inpatient mental health services in Ireland.
The toolkit is intended to provide young people with information on what they can expect when they go into hospital, what their rights are, who they can talk to and how to speak up for themselves. Development of the toolkit followed a targeted consultation with key stakeholders and was heavily influenced by the views of young people.
The Commission has developed a website version of the toolkit which you can access at: www.headspaceireland.ie
Copies of all the tools are available for download on the website.
