Code of Practice on the use of Physical Restraint in Approved Centres

We published Version 2 of the Code of Practice on the Use of Physical Restraint in Approved Centres in 2009, which became operational in 2010. The code of practice applies to all approved centres where physical restraint is used.

The code was updated following a review which involved an extensive stakeholder consultation.

We also developed an information leaflet in plain English for service users, carers and advocates called: What you need to know about the Code of Practice on Physical Restraint .
