The MHC is divided into five divisions, each of which is headed by a member of our senior leadership team.
The work of two of our divisions (the Regulatory team (consisting of the Inspectorate and Standards and Quality Assurance) and the Mental Health Tribunals team) is dedicated entirely to promoting and fostering high standards in the delivery of mental health services.
The Decision Support Service (DSS) division is focused on delivering a service for all adults who have difficulties with their decision-making capacity. The DSS is a national service established within the MHC by the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015. The job of the DSS to register new decision support arrangements and supervise the individuals who are providing a range of supports to people with capacity difficulties.
