An approved centre is a service registered by the Mental Health Commission to provide in-patient treatment to people suffering from mental illness. The MHC maintains a register of all approved centres.
The National Eating Disorders Recovery Centre is an independent service specialising in the treatment of eating disorders. It is located in a converted building in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
Willow Grove Adolescent Unit (WGAU) is a dedicated child and adolescent approved centre within the grounds of St. Patrick’s Hospital and forms part of St. Patrick’s Mental Health Service (SPMHS).
Linn Dara Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in-patient unit is located on the Cherry Orchard Hospital campus in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, and provides treatment for people under the age of 18.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in-patient unit is located on the grounds of Merlin Park University Hospital, Galway. It provides care and treatment to young people aged 12 to 18.
The Adolescent In-Patient Unit (AIPU) is located within the grounds of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Fairview. The approved centre accepts admissions from young people aged 15 to 18 years.
St Joseph’s Intellectual Disability Service is located in St Ita’s Campus in Portrane, Co.Dublin. The approved centre provides a service for adults who have an intellectual disability and a mental health diagnosis.
