An approved centre is a service registered by the Mental Health Commission to provide in-patient treatment to people suffering from mental illness. The MHC maintains a register of all approved centres.
Phoenix Care Centre (PCC), located at Grangegorman, on the North Circular Road, provides specialist tertiary intensive mental health care and treatment for adult patients.
The O’Casey Rooms approved centre is located in a residential area off Philipsburgh Avenue, at the rear of St. Vincent’s Hospital. The approved centre is under the governance of North Dublin Mental Health Services
The Ashlin Centre provides acute care and treatment for North Dublin Mental Health Services (NDMHS). It is located in the grounds of Beaumont Hospital.
The Cluain Lir Care Centre is part of Midland Louth Meath Community Health Organisation (CHO). It is located on the grounds of St. Mary’s Care Centre, across the road from the Regional Hospital Mullingar.
Lakeview Unit is located within Naas General Hospital and caters for all acute adult mental health admissions from the Kildare and West Wicklow regions.
