An approved centre is a service registered by the Mental Health Commission to provide in-patient treatment to people suffering from mental illness. The MHC maintains a register of all approved centres.
Aidan’s Residential Healthcare Unit is located within the Waterford Residential Care Centre, adjacent to St. Patrick’s Hospital on the outskirts of Waterford city.
The approved centre is located close to the village of Glanmire, seven kilometres from Cork city. It is comprised of four buildings co-located within the 117 acre grounds at St. Stephen’s Hospital.
St. Michael’s Unit is situated beside the river Lee, in Cork city centre. Located on the first floor of Mercy University Hospital, it is composed of acute and sub-acute areas.
