Department of Psychiatry, Connolly Hospital
The Department of Psychiatry (DOP) is located on the lower ground floor of Connolly Hospital, in Blanchardstown. The approved centre provides acute in-patient accommodation for the Dublin North City area from Cabra to Mulhuddart and is part of the Dublin North City and County Healthcare Organisation. Several consultant-led teams based in four catchment areas admit residents to the approved centre, as do two rehabilitation teams and a team dealing with the homeless population. Resident accommodation is spread across two wards, Ash and Pine. Both Ash and Pine Wards have accommodation in a mix of single rooms, double rooms, four-bed rooms, and five-bed rooms. A High Dependency Unit (HDU) is attached to Ash ward.
